Oriel Lighting, a company with a history of over four decades, has consistently provided high-quality lighting products at reasonable prices. In its early years, the company sourced most of its products from Italy and Spain, enabling Oriel Lighting to create a diverse range of traditional indoor and outdoor lighting by assembling various components.

 

As time passed, Oriel Lighting adapted to evolving trends, resulting in a shift towards a more modern and contemporary aesthetic in their lighting offerings. While the company continues to import glassware from Spain, the majority of their designs are now manufactured in China and Taiwan. This change allows Oriel Lighting to maintain affordability while keeping up with the demands of the market.

Hamptons Style

The Hamptons style derives its name from “Hamptons”, the stunning resort located north of New York where the rich and famous reside. In a nutshell, Hampton style is best described by terms like relaxed, beachy, classy and upmarket.

Typically a Hamptons house uses minimal colours. Don’t expect a bold purple rug or bright orange cushions for example. Instead natural tones and sandy creams work well with textured rugs and oversized cushions.


The walls are usually white and the space is wide allowing one space to flow seamlessly into the other. Liberating ocean blue colours may also be found in a space which is flooded with natural light caressing the timber floorboards. French doors open up to the verandahs which look out at a vista full of greenery. Accessories reminding you of the beach and ocean adorn the space adding to the warm, welcoming interior.

Lights and fans are fittings that not only serve functional purposes but can also add glamour and style. You may want elegant low-hanging metallic or linen pendant lights over island benches or tables for that intimate look. Additionally, wrought iron designs always work well with Hamptons style interior.

Choose indoor or outdoor lights with clean lines to add to the fresh, bright interior. You can use colours like white or black and materials like opaque glass for the wall lights. Height adjustable metal floor lamps or table lamps with extendable parts also add a metallic flair.
