FAQ

IS IT SAFE TO KEEP A LAVA LAMP TURNED ON CONTINUOUSLY?

If you're considering leaving your lava lamp on overnight, it's advisable to switch it off before going to bed. This precaution is crucial because there's a potential risk of the lamp being knocked over or becoming excessively hot, leading to an unusual explosion.

However, when the lamp is in proper working condition and placed in a secure location, extended usage won't cause the bulb to melt or the lamp to explode. Nevertheless, to ensure the longevity of your lava lamp, it's best to turn it off the next day. The recommended maximum duration for using a lava lamp is 8-10 hours.

MISTAKES TO AVOID FOR A STEADY LAVA FLOW IN YOUR LAVA LAMP

- Avoid loosening or removing the bottle cap on the globe of your lava lamp, as doing so will break the seal, leading to both lamp damage and voiding of the warranty.

- Refrain from moving or shaking the lava lamp while it's in use. Such actions can cause cloudiness in the lamp and lead to the lava breaking apart. If this occurs, promptly switch off the lamp and allow it to sit undisturbed for 24 hours. Afterward, turn it back on and let it run as usual. This may help resolve the issue, but be aware that your lamp could still sustain permanent damage. Always exercise caution when handling the lava lamp since it becomes hot during use.

- Keep the lamp away from direct sunlight to prevent the colours from fading.

- Avoid storing or operating the lava lamp in extreme cold or heat conditions.

- It is not recommended to run your lava lamp continuously; limit its operation to no more than 8-10 hours at a time.

HOW DO YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR LAVA LAMP?

Store and use your lava lamp away from direct sunlight:
Avoid exposing your lava lamp to direct sunlight as it can cause damage and colour fading. The sun's intense heat and brightness are not suitable for your lamp.

Avoid moving or transporting the lamp when it's warm:
Moving the lamp while warm can lead to the liquids inside combining, resulting in a cloudy and unattractive appearance. Keep it undisturbed when in use.

Dealing with cloudiness:
If your lava lamp becomes cloudy, don't panic. Allow the wax to settle at the bottom and let it cool completely. Then, turn on the lamp until the wax breaks up. Repeat this process in short bursts to clear it up. Avoid moving or shaking the lamp while it's hot to prevent cloudiness from occurring again.

Lava lamp bulbs:
Lava lamps use bulbs to provide light and heat. If the bulb burns out, you can find replacement lava lamp bulbs. Carefully lift the globe from its base to access the bulb. Check the inner base for the recommended wattage for the bulb. Always use a bulb with the specified wattage to avoid overheating your lava lamp. Using a bulb with a different wattage can cause problems.
