FAQ

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOLLARD LIGHTS & POST LIGHTS?

Bollard Lights: Bollard lights are outdoor lighting fixtures that consist of vertical posts with heights ranging from 300mm to 1000mm. Beyond their practical functionality, these lights also enhance the visual appeal of outdoor spaces. Widely used to illuminate pathways and driveways, they serve a dual purpose by effectively marking boundaries and acting as stylish barriers. Made specifically for outdoor use, bollard lights are designed to withstand various outdoor conditions, including wet weather, ensuring their resilience and longevity.

Post Lights: A post light, also known as a post lantern or post lamp, refers to an outdoor lighting fixture designed to provide illumination in spaces such as gardens, pathways, driveways, or entrances. Post lights are commonly found in residential, commercial, and public areas. They come in various heights, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs, ranging from a frame height of 2200mm to 3000mm.

TYPES OF BOLLARD LIGHTS

Louvre Bollard Lights: Louvre Bollard Lights are a type of bollards that feature downward-facing lights. The light source is concealed to prevent direct visibility. These lights are particularly suitable for illuminating pathways and natural areas, providing a subtle and focused lighting effect while minimizing glare.

Standard Cone Reflector Bollard Lights: The Standard Cone Reflector is a commonly used style of reflector that provides a 360-degree spread of light. It is a versatile option, particularly well-suited for commercial lighting applications.

Specialised Cone Reflector Bollard Lights: The Specialized Cone Reflector is a specific type of bollard light that directs the light downward and outward. These lights provide effective coverage while avoiding the creation of glare. They are well-suited for ambient lighting applications, offering a pleasant illumination without causing discomfort or excessive brightness.

V Glass Reflector Bollard Lights: The V Glass Reflector represents the highest intensity of lighting available. It provides a 360-degree coverage, emitting light in all directions. These reflectors are particularly effective when you prefer to use a limited number of bollards to achieve a powerful lighting effect. They offer a concentrated and widespread illumination, making them a suitable choice for situations where intense lighting is desired while minimizing the number of fixtures needed.

HOW FAR APART SHOULD BOLLARD & POST LIGHTS BE?

Bollard Lights - To get the most out of your bollards it is recommended that you place each bollard between 3-4m apart, however the spacing will ultimately depend on a number of factors such as your personal preference, the type of bollard you use, the ambient light level, and area you are lighting.

Post Lights - The distance between two light post lights is typically 2.5–3 times the height of the post. If the light post is shorter, it should be placed at closer intervals.
