Description

The NEOS-16 RGBW is a 24V DC dual-bend LED neon-flex with four independent channels — red, green and blue for full colour mixing, plus a dedicated white channel for a true, high-CRI white light. It draws 20W per metre in total (3.3W each for red, green and blue, 10W for white), with the white channel available in five colour temperatures — 2100K, 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 6000K — at CRI >94 and SDCM <3 (730 lm/m, 73 lm/W). It's dimmable and, because all four conductor pairs need to be exposed at every cut point, it's cut at fixed 55mm increments rather than the free-cutting used on JD Lighting's single-colour Neos strips, up to a 10m run per feed point.

The NEOS-16 RGBW carries an IP68 rating when its cut ends are sealed with Lampada's injection-moulded end caps, assembled on-site at their Brisbane facility — talk to us about pre-terminated lengths if you need a fully sealed outdoor run. It ships with a 300mm power feed as standard, with custom feed lengths available on request. This neon-flex requires a separate 24V DC LED driver, such as the Elettrica II 24V DC Slimline LED Driver, plus a compatible RGBW controller to access the colour-changing and colour-temperature functions — a plain constant-voltage driver alone will only run it in a fixed colour. If you don't need colour-changing, JD Lighting's NEOS-10 and NEOS-16 single-colour ranges are simpler, free-cutting alternatives.

What is an LED driver?

An LED driver converts mains electricity into a stable low-voltage DC power required by compatible lighting products. A driver is needed whenever a product requires an external DC power supply; usually location in areas with full weather exposure.

Common low-voltage products include spike lights, bollards, LED strip lighting and low-voltage wall lights. Always check the individual product specifications, as not every product within these categories requires an external driver.

The driver’s output voltage must match the product’s required voltage (eg. 12V DC), and its wattage must be sufficient for the total connected load. The calculator below recommends a suitable 12V or 24V driver and includes the required safety margin.

What else do I need to buy to run this strip?

You'll need a separate 24V DC constant voltage LED driver, such as the Elettrica II 24V DC Slimline LED Driver, sized to your total run length. To access the colour-changing and colour-temperature functions, you'll also need a compatible RGBW controller — a plain driver on its own will only run the strip in a single fixed colour.

Can I use this outdoors?

Yes — the NEOS-16 RGBW carries an IP68 rating, but only once the cut ends are sealed with Lampada's injection-moulded end caps, assembled on-site at their Brisbane facility. If you cut the strip without those factory-terminated ends, it won't be fully sealed — talk to us about pre-terminated lengths for outdoor or wet-area runs.

Can I cut this to any length, like the other Neos strips?

Not quite — because this is an RGBW strip, all four conductor pairs (red, green, blue and white) need to be exposed at every cut point, so it's cut at fixed 55mm increments rather than free-cut like JD Lighting's single-colour Neos range. Maximum run length from a single feed point is 10m.
