Whether a single drop pendant light provides enough light depends on the size of the space and how the light is intended to be used. In smaller areas, a single pendant can deliver ample illumination, particularly when used for task lighting or as a feature light. 

In larger rooms or open-plan spaces, a single pendant may function better as an accent or decorative element rather than the sole light source. In these cases, it is often paired with LED downlights, wall lights, or additional pendant lights to achieve balanced illumination. Factors such as bulb wattage, lumen output, and beam spread should always be considered when assessing lighting performance. 

The recommended hanging height for a single drop pendant light depends on its location and purpose. As a general guideline, pendant lights are usually installed with the bottom of the fitting positioned approximately 75cm to 90cm above the surface below, such as a kitchen bench or dining table. 

This height provides effective illumination while maintaining comfortable sightlines and visual balance. Ceiling height, room proportions, and personal preference can all influence the final placement. In rooms with higher ceilings, pendants may be hung slightly lower to maintain visual connection, while in compact spaces they may be positioned higher to avoid overcrowding the room.
