What is an LED driver?

An LED driver converts mains electricity into a stable low-voltage DC power required by compatible lighting products. A driver is needed whenever a product requires an external DC power supply; usually location in areas with full weather exposure.

Common low-voltage products include spike lights, bollards, LED strip lighting and low-voltage wall lights. Always check the individual product specifications, as not every product within these categories requires an external driver.

The driver’s output voltage must match the product’s required voltage (eg. 12V DC), and its wattage must be sufficient for the total connected load. The calculator below recommends a suitable 12V or 24V driver and includes the required safety margin.

The Soren Double LED Outdoor Spot Light is a twin-head exterior spotlight designed to provide strong, adjustable illumination across outdoor areas. Delivering up to 2700 lumens from its 30W built-in LED system, it combines practical performance with selectable tri-colour lighting in 3000K, 4000K and 5500K.

Each spotlight head can be positioned to direct light where it is needed, while the 100° beam angle provides broad coverage. The standard spotlight is IP65 rated, making it suitable for outdoor use, and the fitting operates on 220–240V AC.

Soren is also available with an optional motion sensor accessory. When fitted, the sensor provides 180° detection with an adjustable 2–12 metre range, selectable time delay and manual override. The sensor component is IP54 rated.
