What is an LED driver?An LED driver converts mains electricity into a stable low-voltage DC power required by compatible lighting products. A driver is needed whenever a product requires an external DC power supply; usually location in areas with full weather exposure. Common low-voltage products include spike lights, bollards, LED strip lighting and low-voltage wall lights. Always check the individual product specifications, as not every product within these categories requires an external driver. The driver’s output voltage must match the product’s required voltage (eg. 12V DC), and its wattage must be sufficient for the total connected load. The calculator below recommends a suitable 12V or 24V driver and includes the required safety margin. The CLA Rictus is an Iron and Glass pendant, available in three different profiles, Wine Glass, Ellipse, and Tear Drop. The Rictus you are looking at has the Tear Drop profile. The Rictus has both a Copper and a Gold colour variant. This pendant has an E27 lampholder which can support globes up to 72W (for halogen), but a globe will need to be purchased alongside the Rictus, as one is not included.
