What is an LED driver?An LED driver converts mains electricity into a stable low-voltage DC power required by compatible lighting products. A driver is needed whenever a product requires an external DC power supply; usually location in areas with full weather exposure. Common low-voltage products include spike lights, bollards, LED strip lighting and low-voltage wall lights. Always check the individual product specifications, as not every product within these categories requires an external driver. The driver’s output voltage must match the product’s required voltage (eg. 12V DC), and its wattage must be sufficient for the total connected load. The calculator below recommends a suitable 12V or 24V driver and includes the required safety margin. CLA's Garden Spike Light comes in Black Powder Coated Aluminium, Polished Copper, Clear Anodized Aluminium or Titanium Anodized Aluminium. This spike light has a protection rating of IP65, and with a 2m reinforced cable included, it survives and thrives in the garden. The head has 90° Tilt & 270° Swivel ranges. The light itself has a 12V, low voltage MR16 lampholder which can support up to 20W globes. A globe will need to be purchased alongside this item, as one is not included.
