A typical LED strip light kit includes: 

• LED Strip Lights
The main strip itself, made from a flexible circuit board with LED chips along the length. Depending on the kit, the strip may be warm white, cool white, tri-colour, or colour-changing. 
• Adhesive Backing

Yes — most LED strip lights can be cut to a custom length, but you must cut only at the marked cut points on the strip.
