Description
This Bankers Lamp herald to the iconic "Emeralite" (emerald and light) table lamps that have been in circulation since the early the 1900s. Popular since its production, this most easily identifiable table lamp is characterised by a bronze stand and green glass lamp shade. Often found on pianos, in art galleries and other areas where creative people flourish, the 'green' shades are well known to inspire creativity and calmness. This so called “green effect” could explain why these banker’s lamps are so often seen in libraries, hotel lobbies, courthouses and offices.
This bankers lamp is slightly flat on the sides and back, and gently slope toward the viewer in the front. This makes them an ideal desk lamp or task light.
Note: The shade is made from pressed glass. Bubbles, lines, slight surface defects or discolourations are characteristics of all pressed glass. They are not to be considered defects.
